Individual Differences in Language Learning and Teaching: a Complex/Dynamic/Socio-Ecological/Holistic View

چکیده

Abstract This article begins by outlining the development of individual difference concept, considering what should be included as an difference, and suggesting a definition. The authors then suggest 11 differences which occur regularly in literature they have found to salient features their own classrooms. A brief overview these factors is provided, along with theoretical perspectives relevant issue. concludes small-scale investigation teachers’ importance language learning. According results, teachers consider motivation strategy use most important variables, but that all are at least somewhat important. conclusion emphasizes need for holistic view complex/dynamic, socio-ecologically influenced phenomena.
